Relevant Magazine, Hugo Schwyzer, and a thing called grace «

I spent last night in an impassioned Twitter discussion about the recent Relevant Magazine article, and how uncomfortable it made me feel. Several of my Twitter friends joined in to express their discomfort as well.

And as we talked about how nervous Schwyzer made us…

Schwyzer tried to follow some of us on Twitter.

He even “favorited” a tweet of mine in which I was talking about how uncomfortable he made me. It was as if he was saying, “I’m watching you. I see what you’re saying about me. I see how I’m making you feel. And I like it.”

I had a panic attack upon seeing that he’d favorited my tweet, and I cried for about 20 minutes.

And I still wonder, why? Why would a man who has completely changed “favorite” a tweet by a woman that felt uncomfortable reading his articles? Why would a man who no longer wants to hurt women attempt to force his online presence upon women who clearly did not want that presence?

The answer is, he wouldn’t.

Hugo Schwyzer may not be trying to murder women anymore. But he is still deliberately attempting to make them feel uncomfortable. He is still relishing their discomfort. Admitting, via Twitter, that seeing these feelings in women is a “favorite” of his.

As much as I would like to never hear or think of this shitbag again, he’s still out there, still up to his same old shit.

Because cis scum have been telling trans folk to die for a long fucking time and self-defense isn’t oppression. 

Just because someone tells you to die doesn’t make it ok to turn around and do them same to them. It might not be oppression, but it does make you nearly as bad as them. You’re wishing death on people because their gender identity matches their parts. Shit like this is wrong both ways, even if most people like to pretend it’s only a problem when directed against some minority group or other. I’m not saying telling trans people to die is right, but doing the reverse isn’t either.

Yes, actually it does. It is NOT OKAY for you to say to trans* people that they need to lay down and passively accept death threats without fighting back. Also, my gender DOES match my ‘parts’. My body is a genderqueer body because I am a genderqueer person. You better do some more reading on gender before you open your mouth.

If you don’t like cis people telling trans* people to die like you claim, why don’t you take this up with them instead of telling trans* people how to deal with it? When our lives stop being in danger we’ll stop wishing ill on the people who put us in danger.

So apparently cis people are really not getting this, so I will lay it out in bullet points

REASONS FOR ME HATING CIS PEOPLE

• Most of you actively oppress us
• Most of you don’t respect our identities
• You get defensive when we say DIE CIS SCUM to shitty cis people, which if you don’t check your privilege, you are.
• You make our struggles about you
• ALOT OF YOU tell us to die, and then follow through by killing us.

NOT REASONS FOR ME TO HATE CIS PEOPLE

• You are comfortable with the gender you were coercively assigned at birth

When you tell trans people self defense against the group oppressing them is wrong, you are scum. And let’s get something out there. I am female. My parts, by which I mean my beautiful, feminine, cock, are female. My body is female because I am female.

I do not hate all cis people. I hate MOST cis people, because most cis people either don’t give a shit about our problems, or KILL US.

How about you tell cis people to stop hurting us on a massive scale instead of telling us how we shouldn’t defend ourselves, k?
